Coupons are the big winners, with 44.6% of consumers agreeing that store coupons motivate them to shop at a particular store, followed by word of mouth, advertising inserts and TV came in fourth, with 26.5% of respondents agreeing that it influences their store selection. Affluent shoppers are more likely than average to be motivated by coupons, inserts and word of mouth, and less likely to be swayed by TV ads.
